CHIRPS Rainfall

CHIRPS Rainfall Data

Climate Hazards Group InfraRed Precipitation with Station data (CHIRPS) is a 30 year rainfall dataset. The data covers most of the globe (50°S-50°N at all longitudes). The data period is from 1981 to near present. The CHIRPS methodology uses 0.05° resolution satellite imagery with weather station data to create gridded rainfall time series providing capabilities for trend analysis and seasonal drought monitoring.
